Sat enjoying my early morning cup of coffee, as is my want most mornings, when I got an article alert through Linkedin that piqued my interest.

“Too complacent,” is how specialist insurer Ecclesiastical describes charities when it comes to cybercrime risk.

Thats a heck of a statement to make, but it is correct. According to the research done by Ecclesiastical, only 52% of charities have a cybersecurity plan in place; 42% have a specific cyber risk management plan; and 42% have cyber insurance. Yet 81% believe they are “fully prepared” in the event of a cyberattack.

In fact, those figures are not too far from what we saw in 2019.
